Doppler Effect was fully prepared! Friday afternoon in the garden playing live music to the taste of Blaauwklippen Wines and excellent tapas when Eskom pulled the plug halfway through the gig. The speaker system died, together with electric guitar, microphones, electronic drums, wireless connectivity and in-ear-monitors. But we were not beaten. Out came the box guitar and cajon (acoustic drum), and we sat amongst the tables and busked our hearts out. We got the following review posted on social media by a patron;
“Tapas and Wine yesterday under the trees, listening to Doppler Effect’s stunning music and vocals was really awesome. Even when Eskom cut the lights, this amazing duo pulled out the bongo type drum and box guitar. The music continued. The tapas food was excellent and affordably priced not forgetting the great Blaauwklippen Estate wines on offer. A great late afternoon early evening venue to chill after a hectic week. Thanks Doppler Effect you guys were great as always.” – Felicity Fourie
A great outcome from a challenging afternoon…, and we are booked to perform again this coming Friday, 22 March. Come and sing along with us from 4pm until 8pm. Tapas until 6, but the wine and music will flow until 8. It’s gonna be great.
Awesome. You showed Eskom they can’t beat you. Will like to listen to your guys.
Always enjoys music with good wine.
