On Sunday 4 August we had the special pleasure of performing at the Elgin Railway Market. Wow!! If you have not been there, then you need to put it onto your local bucket list.
The market is a converted railway shed with an awesome steampunk decor theme. It has large wood–fired heaters that look like the converted innards of old steam locomotives, but polished up and no smoke or smell. Just superb warmth. These focal points are surrounded by large benches and tables in the central area, and a selection of food vendors serving everything from pootjiekos to sushi. There is a great stage for smaller live music performances, and a mezzanine floor with more market traders. There are also great outdoor seating areas for sunny days and… piles of free and convenient parking.
Our gig was really great and Mark’s singing voice was pitch perfect once again. Scores of cellphones were pointed at us with lots of pics and videos being taken by an enthralled full house. Even the vendors were taking videos!
The food was great, and we enjoyed the wine, a free beer from the bar because they supported the band (thanks guys), and superb ribs & chips.
Take a look at the market’s website (https://www.elginrailwaymarket.co.za/ ) for more details.
We hope to see you there again soon! Rock on!! We can also be booked for your private or corporate function, public performance, wedding etc.
