Without a doubt, 1854 has been a Doppler Effect favourite venue since 2017. We have played there as part of Wroxeter (acoustic rock), then as Mark & Brian, and from 2018 until Covid, we were regularly on Mornay’s stage as Doppler Effect.

Boxing Day 2025 marked our first visit since before the Covid pandemic, this time with the Doppler v.3 lineup featuring Neil Grundlingh on bass, electric guitar & vocals. Meanwhile, I managed sound mix, IT, lights, a plastic saxophone, and lip-synced backing harmonies. (Lol). We nearly didn’t have a gig after Neil’s monitor screen fell and broke. Luckily, a borrowed laptop and a ‘TeamViewer’ download saved the show.

Here’s a vid taken by Mornay, the owner of 1854.

Be sure to support 1854 Restaurant in Greyton. It’s the best live music venue in the Overberg. Please take a look at their upcoming shows here.
